Top 5 Wednesday: Books on the Top of my Wishlist

Hello, my fellow book lovers! Top Five Wednesday was created by gingerreadslainey and is now hosted by Thoughts on Tomes! Visit the Goodreads group if you’re interested in joining!

This week’s a freebie, and I am going to talk about some books (that have already been released) I am dying to purchase. If I had an unlimited amount of money, I absolutely would’ve got these titles already!

These are in no particular order. When you click on the book’s title, you will be brought to the Goodreads page.

darius the great is not okay

I have heard nothing but great things about Darius the Great is Not Okay. I talked about this in my most anticipated August 2018 releases post, but I haven’t been able to get a copy yet. This is a novel about friendship, identity, mental health and much more. It sounds like I’ll absolutely love this contemporary.

the poppy war

I don’t read fantasies often, but I’m really interested in picking up The Poppy War. This dark adult fantasy is based on historical events, which sounds awesome! The only reason why I haven’t bought this yet, is because adult fantasies are so expensive!

circe

The Song of Achilles is a beautiful book I definitely plan on re-reading someday, so I’m relieved Miller’s new novel Circe is receiving just as much praise.

nice try, jane sinner

Nice Try, Jane Sinner is described by many as a funny YA contemporary. Because of the mental health representation, this is going to give me the hard-hitting aspect I tend to love in this genre. This novel has about 2,000 ratings on Goodreads so it’s not tremendously popular, but my hopes for this are nevertheless high.

a large expanse of sea

I have mentioned this before on my blog: I am not a fan of the Shatter Me trilogy. Nevertheless, A Very Large Expanse of Sea was one of my most anticipated 2018 book releases. I’m disappointed I haven’t picked it up yet, but I certainly haven’t forgotten it! This YA contemporary is set post-9/11 and stars a Muslim Hijabi main character.

Here you go, these are some books I would really like to add to my collection! Which books are on the top of your wishlist? Have you read any of these novels yet? What were your thoughts?

Thank you for reading,

  1. I kind of want to get Poppy War as well. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it! And I can’t wait for you to get Circe. Miller is a sorceress of an author and she bewitches me every time I read her books! 😉

  2. Circe is so good! Easily one of my favorite releases for 2018. Also, I just started reading Poppy War so I can’t say if it’s one hundred percent amazing yet, but the writing is drool worthy 🤣
