Hello my fellow book lovers! I bought quite a few books this month, which I absolutely regret doing now. My dog needed an emergency surgery a couple of days ago, which ended up costing €520! It’s safe to say I won’t be buying many more books from now on. Please donate to help me pay for the surgery if you can, it would mean the world to me ❤
When you click on the picture, you will be brought to the book’s Goodreads page. You can also read the synopsis there.
Though A Girl Like That wasn’t a five-star read, I wanted to buy a physical copy nonetheless. I listened to the audiobook a few months ago and while I didn’t like the mental health representation, this book has stuck with me. It’s unique and tackles so many important topics. You can read my full review here. I really like the cover and the spine is gorgeous as well!
I could listen to this on audiobook, but I think I’d prefer sitting down and reading it. A Thousand Beginnings and Endings is an anthology inspired by East and South Asian folklore and mythology and features authors such as Aisha Saeed and Cindy Pon.
Once again, I could listen to this on audiobook, but whenever I think I’m going to love a book, I prefer to read a physical copy first for some reason. Autoboyography has received a lot of praise for its queer and religious representation, so my expectations are high!
LOOK AT THIS COVER! I’ve wanted to buy this book since the cover was revealed and I’m glad I finally own it. Tyler Johnson Was Here is an #OwnVoices novel about police brutality and the #BlackLivesMatter movement, so I’m keen to pick it up soon!
Back in January I mentioned You’ll Miss Me When I’m Gone on my list for anticipated releases. I love hard-hitting YA contemporaries, so this novel sounds right up my alley.
You’re Welcome, Universe has been on my TBR for ages! The main character is a Deaf Indian-American girl. The representation isn’t #OwnVoices, but it did receive a positive review from Disability in Kidlit. Said review has been deleted, however, so I can’t link it. You can find an interview with the author here though.
Have you read any of these books yet? Which ones should I pick up first?
Please buy me a coffee if you like my content. I am a Book Depository and Wordery affiliate. If you are interested in buying any books, please purchase from these links. you get free shipping and I get a small commission!
I’ve read three of the books you mentioned today! This month I read Autoboyography and Tyler Johnson Was Here. I enjoyed both, but if I had to say which one you should read first, I recommend Autoboyography! I also read You’ll Miss Me When I’m Gone and even though I didn’t love it, it was really touching and well-done.
I hope your dog is feeling better!! Sending good wishes to them! ❤

That’s great to hear!
And thank you ❤ Her heart stopped working during the surgery so that was really scary, but she's okay now!
